Great Smoky Mountains Institute @ Tremont - Monday : Whew - we made it! It was a long drive dowm but we're finally here. It is now 7:30 here & the students are listening to one of the staff discuss the history of this area. The kids (am I allowed to use that term?) have moved in & had supper. We are headed out at 8:00 for a (not quite) night hike. It won't be very dark yet. I fear that the most difficult part will be being somehwat quiet & enjoying the night noises. We'll try. Everyone is well now. (We had a little car sickness or something on the way down. After our night hike we're going to have a short lesson on photography. We're taking a hike to a waterfall tomorrow so we want to work on photography. We've heard lots of comments so far. As my group drove in one said she was getting really excited! Another commented that everything was too green! Then we lowered the truck windows, listened to the stream & smelled the fresh air! I think they all got a little happier then!
