GSMIT - Friday : Hi, I'm starting this on Thursday evening since tomorrow morning will be quite busy. These pictures are from our Thursday late afternoon free time. We had time to go let the kids play in the Little River that runs past Tremont. Some, as you can see, chose to quietly sit & cool off by putting their feet in the water. Others were quite happy moving around & having a blast! There was a campfire this evening for wrapping things up. Everyone enjoyed it! You'll see pictures later. We are packing up first thing in the morning & then having another session with the Tremont staff. Lunch is at 12:30 & the plans are to leave right after lunch. I'm sure you'll be hearing from your kids as soon as we get back in cell phone range! They will be chatting & texting all the way home! We've had a great week! Thanks to everyone who has been checking the website! I can see the numbers from here & we've had lots of visitors. We are discussing maybe getting together in July. The kids could come some afternoon to Crestwood & work on their best pictures. We could then have the families come in & let everyone see the pictures. I would like to find a way to share mine with you. I want to make them available to the kids since I have so many more. I will definitely make the pictures available online. I'll price them VERY affordable. If you would prefer to get a CD from me - for something like $10.00 - I could do that. This isn't a business deal for me. I just really wanted to introduce the kids to the Smokies & share my love for learning about the world with them! I've always wanted to find a way to let kids know that there's a whole big world out there. This just showed them one small area outside of Illinois. Don't be surprised if they want to see more! Let me know what you think about meeting to share pictures! Thanks again for sharing your kids with us! We've had a wonderful week. Now we just want a safe trip home tomorrow. GSMIT - Wednesday : Hi, We're starting this gallery on Tuesday evening. We're headed to Cade's Cove on Wednesday. This is an area that was great farmland before the Park was established. We will see historic buildings, watch for wildlife, look for wildflowers & practice our photography. We may also do some short hikes. Oh yeah - we're hoping to see a bear! They say that our chances may be good. We'll also be heading for an area that allows the kids to see nice vistas of layers of mountains. We want them to understand why they are called the Smokies. Some of the kids may leave notes here - so I'm signing off! Thanks for checking our photos & leaving comments. Everyone is well & having a great time! Cathy This is Olivia, punks! I love the Smokies! Tommorow we head to the top of Clingmen's Dome, the highest place in TN. The area is beautiful and the hiking is fun, when it's not killing our legs, that is. I have to get some sleep now, Bye! Some kids screamed (of course) but some kids kind of got into them! The advantage is that the bears are out eating them. We actually saw one bear yesterday. Rio spotted it on a drive though a back road area. Yea for Rio! Some of the kids saw it but I never got a picture. So - I turned the camera on Rio trying to take a picture. I loved the excitement in her face! More info later. I'm late getting to biodiversity! Cathy

Keep in mind that these were taken at a high speed on the camera so they may be a little grainy if you print larger than a 5x7. You may not even notice. The color is also a little different because of stage lighting. If you would like to purchase prints - simply place them in your "cart". When you are done shopping you can go to checkout.
